Overview

Read volume alongside the candle range.

In volume spread analysis, spread means a candle’s high-to-low price range, not the bid-ask spread. This indicator plots volume and spread together and marks selected combinations of price movement, candle shape, volume, and range. The aim is to make unusual effort-versus-result relationships easier to notice.

A pattern label describes a rule match. It cannot reveal who traded, prove buying or selling intent, or predict the next candle.

Display

Spread bars adapt to the visible chart.

The spread bars are scaled against the volume bars visible on the chart. Moving or zooming the chart changes the visible set, so the indicator may recalculate and reload. Choose the Lines spread-bar method for a 500-bar lookback or Polylines to draw spread bars across the visible range without that lookback limit.

You can show volume, spread, their averages, and a legend. Bar colours group readings into low, normal, high, and ultra levels using moving averages and configurable multipliers.

Pattern labels

Strength, weakness, and neutral are classifications.

The available VSA labels include potential signs of strength, potential signs of weakness, and neutral patterns. Examples include thrusts, climaxes, no-supply or no-demand conditions, doji variations, and consolidation. Separate candle-pattern labels can also be shown. You can choose which groups appear and how their labels are written.

Each pattern’s criteria are described in the indicator settings. Review the underlying candles and surrounding trend; one matching bar is not a complete trading thesis.

Open candle

Projections are provisional.

While a candle is open, optional forecasts estimate where its volume and spread might finish. The volume estimate uses the rate so far and time remaining; the spread estimate uses a different, non-linear model. Either can change before the candle closes and may differ materially from its final value.

Alerts and limits

Choose confirmed or forecast conditions.

Alerts are available for confirmed VSA patterns and volume or spread levels, and for selected forecast levels. Forecast alerts can require a minimum portion of the candle to elapse first. You can also colour price bars and adjust level multipliers, averages, pattern groups, and visual styles.

Volume data quality varies by market and symbol. Read forecasts and pattern labels as prompts for further review, not verified reversals or trading instructions.
